BABY TEDDY BEAR

Teddy Bears are one of those animals you always see hugging. I want to show that tenderness in this baby sweater. Babies are without doubt, a mirror of that tenderness. I also wanted to play with textures and make the Teddy Bear itself have a sweater inside the sweater.

Sizes: Newborn (1-3 months, 3-6 months, 6-12 months, 12-24 months)

See the tabs below for more information on construction notes, level of difficulty, prerequisites, materials and gauge.

Construction notes

The sweater is worked flat in one piece, starting up the front and down the back.

  1. Start up the front. Work flat while completing the Teddy Bear until reaching the sleeves.
  2. Cast on sts for the sleeves.
  3. For the neckline, Bind off the center stitches and leave right sleeve stitches on waste yarn or stitch holder. Continue with left sleeve. Make additional rows for the sweater opening. Cast on the sts of neckline and opening and continue working back with sleeves.
  4. Bind off sleeve sts and work back.
  5. Finish off: Duplicate stitch for Teddy Bear’s eyes and sew side and sleeve seams.
