UDA TOP – DRESS

Inspiration
When we play with lacework, we create textures reminiscent of lace from other eras. Summer allows dresses to be worn with lacework creating unique and timeless garments that stand out in the closets of the little ones.

Sizes

(6-12 months, 12-18 months, 2y, 4y)(6y, 8y, 10y, 12y)

Uda – Knitting Pattern for a Girl’s Dress/Top

Looking for something a little different to knit for the little ones in your home?
Let me introduce Uda, a knitted dress or top pattern for girls, featuring a delicate lace motif that you’ll enjoy knitting just as much as they’ll enjoy wearing it.

A versatile and adaptable design: within the same pattern, you’ll find instructions to knit either a top or continue working to create a dress. The pattern includes six sizes, from 6–12 months to 12 years, and you can choose your size either by age or chest width. Sometimes the little one’s opinion is the best guide… my daughter loves dresses, especially the way they twirl.

This pattern is part of the Mini&Me collection, which also includes an adult version. If you already own one of the two patterns, you’ll find a code on the last page to purchase the other with a 20% discount.

🌿 A visual and easy-to-follow pattern

Uda is a highly visual pattern, fully charted by size:
you’ll have the entire stitch chart for each size on a single page. There are no row-by-row written instructions—just clear charts along with explanations for each stitch used.

The lace motif is created with increases and decreases on both right and wrong sides. For this reason, I recommend an intermediate knitting level, so you can enjoy the process without frustration. If you’re a complete beginner, this may not be the best project to start learning lace.

🧶 Edited and test-knitted

Like all my designs, Uda has been technically edited and test-knitted by several knitters across different sizes to ensure the instructions flow smoothly and are easy to follow.

For more information, check the tabs above with construction notes, prerequisites, materials, and gauge.

Wishing you a beautiful knitting experience with Uda.

If you’d like to purchase the girl’s knitted dress pattern #Uda, you can do so here:

Construction notes:

The top is knitted flat. First the back and then the front. The shoulder seams are joined and the neck and sleeve ends are knitted. The side seams are joined and the top is finished.
If you want to knit the dress, pick up the sts at the bottom of the top and work the skirt in the round.

Difficulty Level

Intermediate
Pattern has been tech edited.

What do you need to know?

To knit and purl, increase and decrease on right side and wrong side. The top pattern is charted only. I include a video to help you with charts if it is your first time. To work in the round for the neckline and skirt (for dress version only).
Support videos available for some stitches. Auxiliary photos for some steps provided.
