Veluma Shawl – a lace knitting pattern

The Veluma shawl is a knitting pattern designed to enjoy both the process and the final result. A design that flows smoothly, is easy to understand from the very beginning, and leaves room to knit at a relaxed pace. Inspired by quietly knitted gifts —those made with care and given almost like a secret— Veluma takes its name from velum, Latin for “veil”: something that covers, protects, or subtly reveals.

It is a shawl that grows naturally, revealing its shape row by row, creating that gentle waviness along the sides, where lace details and bobbles are worked.

🌿 Why you’ll love knitting it

✔️ Clear, tip-to-tip construction, easy to follow from the start.
✔️ Wavy lace sections and bobbles that add texture and movement.
✔️ A light and engaging knitting rhythm, ideal for making steady progress without effort.
✔️ A versatile design, perfect for experimenting with different yarns and textures.
✔️ An elegant result without complicating the process.

During testing, knitters highlighted that this is a very enjoyable pattern, light to knit and easy to follow, describing it as a “relaxing but not boring” and “addictive” project, where the shawl takes shape in a very satisfying way.
