This garment for its versatility will also allow you to play with rests of color and where you tie the garment and the direction in which you wear it.

    The Waka tee is a knitting pattern to knit this summery top, ideal to use your scrap yarns and wear it at the beach or at the pool.

    Knitted from side to side, it is divided into sections that you will complete successfully until the garment is knitted. Besides, the edges are finished with an i-cord giving a perfect finish as you knit.

    What does it mean to knit a garment?

    A garment knitted by you is much more than just something to wear. It accumulates many sensations that will accompany you when you wear it. You will remember where, when with whom you knitted it, where you bought the wool, what you learned when you knitted it etc.

    Construction notes:

    The top is knitted flat in three parts corresponding to the three sections: back, right front and left front. The knitting direction is horizontal, starting at the sleeve and moving towards the body as also detailed in the sketch provided.

    • Amount: 3 (3, 4, 4, 5, 6, 6, 7) skeins of 100 gr
    • Total in m: 636 (636, 848, 848, 1.060, 1.272, 1.272, 1.484) m
    • Total in yds: 696 (696, 928, 928, 1.160, 1.392, 1.392, 1.624) yds 4,5 mm (US 7) needles
    • Tapestry needle

    Gauge

    In a 10 x 10 cm (4 in x 4 in) square you should have 16,5 sts and 22 rows. Knit the swatch with Stockniette stitch and block it.
